Enabling data roaming
This makes sure your Smart SIM works properly and is connected when you're in the UK or abroad.
Open Settings

Select your Smart SIM
Turn on Data Roaming
Updating the APN
This makes sure your Smart SIM connects to use data services.

Tap Mobile Data Network or Cellular Data Network
Replace the top APN with data00.telnyx. Please leave all other fields as they are.

Switching to Smart SIM
Switch to Smart SIM in just a few taps.
Here's how:
1. Swipe down from the top right of your screen to open Control Centre
2. Go to Mobile Data or Cellular Data
3. Switch your data line to Smart SIM
Follow the same steps to switch data back to your main SIM.
Configuring data switching
We also recommend setting up automatic data switching. This means that in the moments you can't manually switch to Smart SIM and your main SIM has completely lost signal, Smart SIM will kick in.
Open Settings
Tap Mobile Service or Cellular
Tap Mobile Data or Cellular Data
Select your main SIM (not the Smart SIM)
Turn on Allow Mobile Data / Cellular Data Switching
Making sure VPNs are off
VPNs will block your Smart SIM connection, so it's best to turn them off.
Open Settings
Tap General
Tap VPN & Device Management
Turn off any active VPN connections
What's supported π
Apps
We support apps that use low data to help keep costs down for everyone.
Countries
We've partnered with networks around the world so your Smart SIM works wherever you go.
Testing your Smart SIM β
You can use this URL https://smartsim.honestmobile.com to test things - once connected to Smart SIM. If you get a green tick, you are connected to Smart SIM, if you get a red X, you are using another data source (for example WiFi):
If the page doesn't connect, the best option is to test using a supported app on Smart SIM. For example, WhatsApp.
Changing networks
Smart SIM will connect to the network with the best coverage and stick to it until it drops. Follow these steps if you'd like to choose a different network:
Open Settings.
Tap Mobile Service / Cellular,
Select your Smart SIM and then select Network Selection.
Turn off Automatic Selection.
Allow a few minutes for the list of available networks to populate.
Tap on your desired network to connect.
This can be handy for testing another local network in your area or if your usual connection isnβt working well. The UK supports connections on EE, O2, Three and Vodafone.
Supported International networks are available by viewing our list of supported countries: https://help.honestmobile.com/en/articles/9706266-which-countries-does-smart-sim-cover
