Smart SIM Boost is an optional add-on for Smart SIM 2.0. It gives you a set amount of data for everything beyond essential apps: open web browsing, social media, streaming and any other app or website.
The simplest way to think about it:
Smart SIM is for essential apps: 500+ approved apps like WhatsApp, Maps and Find My, with unlimited data
Boost is for everything else: apps like Safari, Instagram and Spotify, using your Boost data
Your approved apps never touch your Boost data. Even with Boost turned on, approved apps stay unlimited, so your Boost data only goes on everything else.

Getting Boost
Do I need Boost?
Only if you want to use apps that aren't on the Smart SIM approved apps list. If the apps you need are already on the list, your Smart SIM has you covered.
Which Smart SIM can use Boost?
Boost works on Smart SIM 2.0. If you're still on an older Smart SIM, you'll still see the Boost option in the app, and you'll be asked to upgrade to Smart SIM 2.0 before you check out.
How much does Boost cost?
Pick the Boost that suits you:
1GB for Ā£6, which lasts 30 days
10GB for Ā£29, which lasts 12 months
How do I buy Boost?
Open the Honest app
On the home screen, tap your Smart SIM
Choose 1GB or 10GB Boost
Confirm your payment
I can't see the option to buy Boost.
Try these in order:
Update the Honest app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
Close the app fully, then open it again
Tap your Smart SIM on the home screen

This is usually your bank blocking the payment. Check with your bank, or try a different card.
Managing Boost
Can I turn Boost on and off?
Yes. Open the Honest app and tap your Smart SIM on the home screen, then use the Boost toggle. Turn it on when you want it and off when you don't.

Can Boost renew automatically?
Yes, and you choose if and when it renews. Go to Smart SIM ā Boost ā Auto-renew and pick either or both:
Renew when data runs out: a new Boost is added as soon as you've used all your data
Renew when this expires: a new Boost is added when your current one reaches its expiry date
If you leave auto-renew off, Boost won't renew.

What happens when Boost runs out?
Boost ends when you've used all your data or it reaches its expiry date, whichever comes first. Unless you've turned on auto-renew, your Smart SIM goes back to approved apps only, with coverage in 180+ countries again.
Using Boost in the UK and abroad
Which countries does Boost work in?
Boost works across every major UK network and in 130 countries worldwide. While Boost is on, your Smart SIM works in those 130 countries instead of 180+.

What if my destination isn't covered by Boost?
You won't be able to buy or turn on Boost while you're in a country Boost doesn't cover. Your Smart SIM may still work there for approved apps, so check the Smart SIM 2.0 countries list.
Limits and compatibility
Can I make calls or send texts with Boost?
No. Smart SIM is data-only, with or without Boost. Use your main SIM for calls and texts.
