What happens when your Smart SIM isn't working? ℹ️
If your Honest Smart SIM isn’t connecting properly, your device might not access the supported apps as expected. This can happen if settings like data roaming, VPNs, or Private DNS aren’t configured correctly. By checking and adjusting these settings, you'll get your Smart SIM back up and running.
How to fix common Smart SIM issues 📲
Update Your Device
Before testing your Smart SIM, update your phones software settings to make sure the SIM can connect properly.
Additionally, restart your device or toggle airplane mode ON and OFF. This action resets network connections and helps the SIM reconnect to the strongest network.
Turn on Data Roaming
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, Toggle Data Roaming on
Update / Check the APN:
Open Settings
Tap Network & Internet or Connections
Tap SIMs or Mobile network
Select your Smart SIM
Tap Access point names
Select the '+' in the top right
For Name, put in 'Smart SIM'
For APN put in '
data00.telnyx
'Leave the rest blank and tap Save
Ensure this APN is selected
Turn off Private DNS
Disabling Private DNS is essential for ensuring proper Smart SIM connectivity in both Pixel phones and other Android devices.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS, Toggle to Off.
Turn off any VPNs
Disable any active VPNs, as they will stop the Smart SIM’s ability to connect to the approved apps.
Test Your Smart SIM in the Honest app 🔄
Once your device is set up, check your Smart SIM connection using the Smart SIM test in the Honest app. It only takes a few seconds and will confirm if your Smart SIM is working as it should.
