What happens when your Smart SIM isn't working? โ„น๏ธ

If your Honest Smart SIM isnโ€™t connecting properly, your device might not access the supported apps as expected. This can happen if settings like data roaming, VPNs, or Private DNS arenโ€™t configured correctly. By checking and adjusting these settings, you'll get your Smart SIM back up and running.

How to fix common Smart SIM issues ๐Ÿ“ฒ

Update Your Device

Before testing your Smart SIM, update your phones software settings to make sure the SIM can connect properly.

Turn on Data Roaming

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, Toggle Data Roaming on
โ€‹

Turn off Private DNS (Pixel phones only)

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS, Toggle to Off
โ€‹

Turn off any VPNs

Disable any active VPNs

Test Your Smart SIM in the Honest app ๐Ÿ”„

Once your device is set up, check your Smart SIM connection using the Smart SIM test in the Honest app. It only takes a few seconds and will confirm if your Smart SIM is working as it should.

If your Smart SIM is working correctly

Great news! Your Smart SIM is connected and ready to use.

  • Use apps that support the Smart SIM for the best experience.

  • You can turn iCloud Private Relay back on (if you disabled it earlier).

  • Enjoy seamless connectivity on your Smart SIM!

If you see an error or connection issue

Please double-check that youโ€™ve followed all the device setup steps:

  • Data roaming is turned on

  • VPNs and Private DNS are disabled

  • All other connections (WiFi, other SIMs) are off

  • Youโ€™re using the supported apps

Then restart your device and try the test again.

Reactivating a Removed Smart SIM ๐Ÿ”„

If your Smart SIM has been removed, you can reinstall it using the QR code in your initial Honest Mobile setup email. If you no longer have the QR code, request a replacement from the team.

Remember, your Smart SIM remains active until it is explicitly canceled. If issues persist, consider requesting a replacement Smart SIM or deleting and reinstalling the current eSIM from your settings.
