Testing your Smart SIM connection (Android)

How to confirm your Smart SIM is connected

Once your Smart SIM is installed and configured, it's worth running a quick test to make sure everything is working correctly. This guide walks you through how to do that, both through the Honest app and via our connection test page.


For each of the steps below, the quickest way to make changes is through the Quick Settings panel, swipe down from the top of your screen to open it.

1. Turn off Wi-Fi

Open Quick Settings and tap the Wi-Fi tile, it should turn grey or show as off when disabled.

Alternatively: Settings β†’ Network & Internet β†’ Wi-Fi β†’ toggle off

2. Turn off any VPNs

Skip this step if you don't use a VPN.

Open Quick Settings and tap the VPN tile if it's showing.

Alternatively: Settings β†’ Network & Internet β†’ VPN β†’ toggle off

3. Switch mobile data to Smart SIM

Most Android phones: Settings β†’ Network & Internet β†’ SIMs β†’ select Smart SIM as your preferred data SIM


​Pixel: Settings β†’ Network & Internet β†’ SIMs β†’ Mobile data β†’ select Smart SIM


​Motorola: Settings β†’ Network & Internet β†’ Mobile Data β†’ select Smart SIM

4. Run the connection test

Test in the Honest app

  1. Open the Honest app

  2. Tap your Smart SIM

  3. Tap Test connection

The app will run a quick check and show a success screen if your Smart SIM is connected and working correctly.

Visit smartsim.honestmobile.com on your phone while connected to your Smart SIM.

  • βœ… Green tick β€” Smart SIM online. You're all set.
    ​

  • ❌ Red cross β€” Smart SIM not currently connected. Make sure Wi-Fi and your VPN are off, then reload the page.
