The easiest way to install, set up and test your Smart SIM is through the Honest app.

Simply open the app, tap your Smart SIM, and select 'Set up SIM' or 'Activate' to be guided through the process.

Prefer to do it manually? Follow the steps below.
β1. Install your Smart SIM
This adds your Smart SIM to your iPad so you can start using it.
Open the Smart SIM email with the subject line 'Your Smart SIM is here π§' β check your spam folder if you can't find it.
Scan the QR code in the email using your iPad's camera, or use the manual installation details at the bottom of the email.
Tap Add Mobile Plan when prompted.
Follow the on-screen steps to complete installation.
π‘ You may see Telnyx mentioned during installation, that's expected. They're part of the technology behind the Smart SIM that makes it all work.
Once the SIM is installed, you should see 'Proximus' or 'TIM' under Mobile Plans. This is your Smart SIM.
2. Enable Data Roaming
Open your iPad's Settings app > tap Mobile Data > open Mobile Data Options, and toggle Data Roaming ON for the Proximus / TIM Plan.

3. Update the APN
This is like a gateway to the internet, and ensures your SIM can connect to data.
Open your Settings > Mobile Data > βΉοΈ icon beside Proximus / TIM > APN Settings.

In the top APN field β "Mobile Data APN", delete the existing value and type the following:

βdata.net

4. Verify setup & test
Open the Honest app and tap your Smart SIM. You'll see Test Connection as an option.
The app will walk you through three checks: turning Wi-Fi and any VPNs off and switching the connection to the Smart SIM. Once all three stages pass with a green tick, you're good to go.

If the test fails, go back through steps 2 and 3 to double-check your data roaming and APN settings.
If you need any help with the connection test, visit smartsim.honestmobile.com on your iPad while connected to your Smart SIM only (with no Wi-Fi or other connection).
β Green tick β Smart SIM online. You're all set.
ββ Red cross β Smart SIM is not currently connected. Make sure Wi-Fi and your VPN are off, then reload the page.
