What happens when your Smart SIM isn't working? ℹ️

If your Honest Smart SIM isn’t connecting properly, your device might not access the supported apps as expected. This can happen if settings like data roaming, VPNs, or Private DNS aren’t configured correctly. By checking and adjusting these settings, you'll get your Smart SIM back up and running.

Step by step: How to fix common Smart SIM issues 📲

Update Your Device

Before testing your Smart SIM, update your phones software settings to make sure the SIM can connect properly.

Turn on Data Roaming

Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > toggle Data Roaming on

Turn off iCloud Private Relay (if using iCloud+)

Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Private Relay > toggle Private Relay off

Turn off any VPNs

Disable any VPN app or profile on your device

If you see an error or connection issue

Please double-check that you’ve followed all the device setup steps:

  • Data roaming is turned on

  • VPNs are disabled

  • All other connections (WiFi, other SIMs) are off

  • You’re using the supported apps

Then restart your device and try the test again.

Reactivating a Removed Smart SIM 🔄

If your Smart SIM has been removed, you can reinstall it using the QR code in your initial Honest Mobile setup email. If you no longer have the QR code, request a replacement from the team.

Remember, your Smart SIM remains active until it is explicitly canceled. If issues persist, consider requesting a replacement Smart SIM or deleting and reinstalling the current eSIM from your settings.
