How does Smart SIM work in the UK?
Smart SIM lets you use 40+ apps on the biggest UK networks, giving you the best chance of staying connected. Think of it as an insurance policy for when your primary SIM loses signal.
How does Smart SIM work around the world?
Smart SIM provides 40+ apps around the world, so you don't need to worry about expensive roaming, relying on wifi or data caps.
Just turn off your primary SIM card, turn on your Smart SIM and enjoy your travels knowing you've got essential apps at your fingertips.
Does Smart SIM replace my main SIM and phone number?
No. Your Smart SIM is a data-only SIM, meaning you can't use the phone number for calls and texts. It works best alongside your primary SIM, there for when you lose signal in the UK or want to avoid expensive roaming abroad.
How can I check my Smart SIM is working?

If you turn off your main SIM, turn on just your Smart SIM and visit this page, you'll be able to see if it's working.
Google Maps isn't working properly.
If Google Maps isn't working, click on your profile picture in the top right and select Incognito Mode or "use Maps without an account". This should get you connected.
Does Smart SIM come with a phone number?
Smart SIM is data-only.
So while there's a phone number associated with the SIM (which you may see in your settings), this isn't active and can't be used for calls or texts.
Why can't I use a browser?
We want everyone to enjoy Smart SIM with better signal and hassle-free roaming. Adding apps like internet browsers would push the price sky-high, which isn’t what we’re about. The more customers who use Smart SIM, the more apps we can keep adding while keeping it affordable for everyone.
How much data can I use outside of essential apps?
Smart SIM will only work for the apps listed here. If you're wanting to use apps outside of this, you can always check out our core SIM-only plans.
Why just essential apps?
We want everyone to enjoy Smart SIM with better signal and hassle-free roaming. Adding apps like TikTok or Youtube would increase the price, which isn’t what we’re about.
How much does it cost internationally?
It costs nothing to use, on top of your £5/month.
I already have 2 SIMs. Can I add this on as a third one?
You can only have two active SIMs on your phone at any time, so it would be worth checking your phones specifications to confirm. Most modern smartphones will only allow one SIM for calls/texts and one for data.
Can it call 999?
As Smart SIM is data-only and not designed for phone calls, this isn’t possible. It’s best to use your main SIM for this, as the call will be free whether you’re in the UK or abroad.
What is the difference between this and a normal SIM from Honest?
The main difference is that the Smart SIM will allow you to connect to the best network and allow you access to the essential apps whenever possible.
I can't see the Telnyx/SIM Toolkit app on my Android phone
If you're having issues with the Telnyx/SIM Toolkit app not showing on your phone, please delete and reinstall your Smart SIM (you can use the same QR code), the app should now show in your app drawer.
