Smart SIM is designed to work with a specific set of apps, mostly the ones you’d use for travel, navigation, work, or staying in touch.
We’re adding more all the time, based on what you tell us matters most.
What kind of apps are supported? 🧭
The Smart SIM supports a range of essential, lower-data usage apps. Being able to pay for parking or order an Uber when stranded is more important than endlessly scrolling through TikTok.
App compatibility is rooted in maintaining affordability with connections across the globe. High-usage apps typically drive up costs that could lead to increased costs for everyone.
That’s how we keep it affordable and focused on what you really need when you’re away from your main SIM or travelling abroad.
Right now, we support things like:
Navigation (like Google Maps)
Messaging (like WhatsApp)
Travel and work tools
It doesn't support video/music streaming apps (YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify), social media (TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook), or gaming apps. If you attempt to use an unsupported app with the Smart SIM, the app will simply not load or be able to establish a network connection.
