📲 Step by step: Fix your number showing incorrectly in Google Messages
If Google Messages isn’t showing your correct number, try these steps:
1. Turn off and on Google Chat features (RCS)
Open the Messages app
Tap the three dots in the top right
Tap Settings
Tap Chat Features (or RCS)
Toggle Enable Chat Features to Off
Turn your phone off and on again
Repeat the steps above and toggle Chat Features back On
Send a test message and your number should now appear correctly
2. Clear Google Play Services and Play Store cache
If that didn’t work, try clearing the cache and data:
Clear Google Play Services
Open your phone’s Settings
Tap Apps
Tap See all apps
Scroll to Google Play Services
Tap Storage
Tap Clear Cache
Tap Manage Space → then tap Clear all Data
Clear Google Play Store cache
Open Settings
Tap Apps and notifications
Tap See all apps
Scroll to Google Play Store
Tap Storage
Tap Clear Cache
Tap Clear Data
3. Reset the SIM card
Still not working? Try toggling the SIM card off and on:
Open Settings
Tap Connections
Tap SIM card management
Turn your SIM Off, wait a moment, then turn it back On
