Turning Apple Private Relay off

A guide for turning off Private Relay on your iOS device

Apple Private Relay encrypts and reroutes your internet traffic, which can interfere with Smart SIMโ€™s connection to certain apps.

If youโ€™re using a Smart SIM on an iPhone, you will need to turn off Private Relay (part of iCloud+) to access certain Apple apps, including Safari, Apple Mail, and Apple Weather.

๐Ÿ”ข Step-by-step guide

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap your Name at the top (Apple ID)

  3. Select iCloud

  4. Select Private Relay

  5. Toggle Private Relay off
    โ€‹

The Smart SIM will continue to allow access to other approved apps while Private Relay is enabled. Turning it off is only necessary to use the Apple apps listed above.
