How to change your Android APN settings
How to change your Android APN settings
Updated over 2 weeks ago

This guide is for Classic SIMs, if you've got a Smart SIM please check out this guide

So you’ve downloaded the app, logged in, and got your new SIM locked and loaded. You go to access the internet and… nothing 🥲

Don’t panic — you just need to change a couple of settings to get connected. You’ll be back to watching cat videos on your break before you know it.

Steps 🔢

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone. This is usually found on the home screen or app drawer

  2. Look for a section related to network connections. This might be called Network & Internet, Mobile Network, or something similar

  3. In this page, look for something called Access Point Names (APN). It might be labelled directly as APN or Access Point Names

  4. Look for the button or option to "Add APN" or "+". This will create a new APN profile for you

  5. Here's where you'll enter some details which will help us get you connected to our network (you can also view the image underneath this section to see what it looks like)

    • Name: Enter "Honest" (This is for reference, so you know which APN profile is which)

    • APN: Enter "gamma" (This is the important part that lets your phone connect to our network. It’s case-sensitive, so make sure you type it in exactly as it’s shown above)

  6. Once you've entered the information, save the new APN profile. This option might be labelled "Save" or hidden in the three-dot menu in the top right of the screen

  7. Now we’ve created your new APN called Honest. Click on the circle next to it to set it as the active APN

Make sure that gamma is all lowercase when entering this into the APN field. It won’t work otherwise.
