Tethering means that you can use your mobile data to create a WiFi network that nearby devices can use.
Honest has unrestricted hotspot in the UK, which means that you can use as much of your data plan as you like to tether other devices to your mobile data. There are no extra charges for using hotspot.
Please note that we don't currently support hotspot/tethering on iPads or when you're outside the UK on an iPhone
What to do if your hotspot isn't working:
Check that your APN settings are correct for data usage using this article
Check that your personal hotspot is switched on
Check that you're in the UK. Unfortunately, we don't support hotspot abroad
Check that the WiFi on the device with your Honest SIM in it is switched off
Check that the WiFi on the device that you're trying to use the hotspot WiFi on is switched on
Check that the Bluetooth on the device with your Honest SIM in it is switched on
Check that the Mobile Data on the device with your Honest SIM in it is switched on
Check that low power mode / battery saver mode on the device with your Honest SIM in it is switched off
Check that you haven't run out of data for this month
If your hotspot has a password, double check that you've entered the correct password
Restart your phone
Turn airplane mode on for 5 minutes and try again
If you're using an Android device, then you can also try updating your APN type using the following steps:
Go to Settings
Go to Network & Internet
Tap Mobile Network
Tap Advanced
Tap Access Point Names
Edit the APN in use: change the APN Type to default,DUN
Save
