โ„น๏ธ What happens when your Smart SIM isn't working?

If your Honest Smart SIM isnโ€™t connecting properly, your device might not access the supported apps as expected. This can happen if settings like data roaming, VPNs, or Private DNS arenโ€™t configured correctly. By checking and adjusting these settings, you'll get your Smart SIM back up and running.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Step by step: How to fix common Smart SIM issues

Update Your Device

Before testing your Smart SIM, update your phones software settings to make sure the SIM can connect properly.

iOS Setup

Follow these steps on your iPhone:

  1. Turn on Data Roaming
Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options
    Toggle Data Roaming on
โ€‹This ensures your Smart SIM can access data networks

  2. Turn off iCloud Private Relay (if using iCloud+)
Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Private Relay
    Toggle Private Relay off
โ€‹Private Relay can block connections used by the Smart SIM

  3. Turn off any VPNs
Disable any VPN app or profile on your device
โ€‹VPNs can interfere with Smart SIM traffic

  4. Disconnect all other connections
    Turn off WiFi
Remove or disable other SIM cards
โ€‹Smart SIM should be the only active data connection

Android Setup

Follow these steps on your Android device:

  1. Turn on Data Roaming
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network
    Toggle Data Roaming on
โ€‹This allows the Smart SIM to connect to available networks

  2. Turn off Private DNS (Pixel phones only)
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS
    Set to Off
โ€‹Private DNS can block Smart SIM connections on Pixel devices

  3. Turn off any VPNs
    Disable any active VPN
โ€‹VPNs can stop the Smart SIM from connecting correctly

  4. Disconnect all other connections
    Turn off WiFi
Remove or disable other SIM cards
โ€‹Smart SIM should be your only connection

๐Ÿ”„ Test Your Smart SIM in the Honest app

Once your device is set up, check your Smart SIM connection using the Smart SIM test in the Honest app. It only takes a few seconds and will confirm if your Smart SIM is working as it should.
